Laphroaig Single Malt and Willem Dafoe Partner in Global Campaign

Laphroaig Islay single malt, has announced its global partnership with actor, Willem Dafoe. The first of its kind in the distillery’s history, the campaign includes a short film titled ‘The Taste’, global advertising, a bespoke cocktail creation and tease of a limited-edition whisky.

The collaboration marks the latest instalment in the brand’s ‘Unphorgettable’ campaign, which was launched in 2024 and celebrates the unmistakable flavour of this whisky.

The Taste’ brings to life Dafoe’s search to define Laphroaig’s taste —something he can’t quite put his finger on. It draws inspiration from components in Dafoe’s life and his thirst for immersing himself to get a taste of experiences, including the attempt, as a child, to get a sense of flying to space by remaining in a wardrobe for two days. With this individual and curious style, Dafoe seeks the words to describe the bold single malt, and recites humorous descriptions submitted by some of the whisky’s biggest fans —Friends of Laphroaig.

The film and full campaign will be shared globally across channels, with a focus on digital and paid social. This will be reinforced with out of home, print, PR and in-store promotions in key markets, including the US, UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Japan, Australia and Global Travel Retail.

Chris Richardson, Managing Director of Suntory Global Spirits, Scotch and Irish, said, “Willem Dafoe is bold, curious, and impossible to define, much like Laphroaig itself. His uncompromising dedication to craft mirrors our own approach to whisky making. He is the ideal partner to bring to life the intense, unmistakable, and truly ‘unphorgettable’ flavour of Laphroaig, and to celebrate those around the world with character as distinctive as his.”

Speaking on the inspiration behind the film, Dafoe said, “The first time I ever travelled overseas, I went to Scotland. I was a kid, and the first thing I thought when my feet touched down on the ground was, something feels familiar here. I feel at home. The land spoke to me, and it must be genetic because my grandmother was from Glasgow. ‘The Taste’ depicts that sort of familiarity that’s found when exploring Laphroaig. It’s the flavours and how they come together.”

Laphroaig has also enlisted award-winning mixologist, Meaghan Dorman, to create a cocktail, named ‘The Other Island’. It blends Laphroaig 10-Year-Old, fresh pineapple, lemon, spiced cinnamon syrup and Amaro Ciociaro, with a touch of prosecco, to create a smoky, tropical and gently spiced spritz, balancing Laphroaig’s familiar character with layered flavours. The cocktail will be available first to guests at The Barley Mow pub in Mayfair, London, being renamed ‘The Barley Dafoe’ for campaign launch, before appearing on menus in additional select bars worldwide.

This Dafoe partnership will also extend to a limited-edition product collaboration, set for release in 2026. Together with Sarah Dowling, Senior Whisky Maker for Laphroaig, Dafoe has developed a limited-edition, that is quietly maturing, steeped in the peat, smoke, salt and the surprising sweetness that infuses all Laphroaig whiskies.

Cashmir Vodka Recognized with Gold at The Vodka Masters 2025

Cashmir Vodka has been awarded Gold in the Organic category at The Vodka Masters 2025. The vodka launched in May 2025 is distilled from Sona Moti, an ancient heritage variety of organic winter wheat that has been revived after nearly vanishing from cultivation.

The vodka undergoes seven rounds of distillation and five stages of filtration, including activated carbon, mango charcoal, and precious metal layers. It is then blended with glacial water sourced from the Kashmir Valley.

The Vodka Masters is an international competition that recognizes excellence across multiple vodka categories, with entries assessed through blind tastings by panels of distillers, writers, and industry experts. The Organic category highlights vodkas that adhere to strict organic production standards.

This recognition reflects the increasing presence of Indian craft spirits in international competitions and highlights the growing demand for premium organic options in the global vodka market.

Hendrick’s Gin Limited Edition Oasium Released

Hendrick’s Gin has introduced limited edition—Hendrick’s Oasium, distilled by its Master Distiller, Lesley Gracie, and filled with herbs and vibrant fruits. Hendrick’s Oasium is the latest addition to Hendrick’s Cabinet of Curiosities. It’s designed for gin lovers who like something new and intriguing, with a flavour that’s enjoyed with cucumber and tonic.

With bright citrus and herbal notes, this limited release features desert-inspired botanicals that elevate the crisp, green flavours.

Lesley Gracie, Master Distiller at Hendrick’s said, “It was fascinating to see what plants grow and thrive in an oasis; there are things you wouldn’t expect and some others that you absolutely would. There’s a very distinctive, green, fresh character to Hendrick’s Oasium and a specific bright citrus note from some particularly small desert botanicals. This is rounded off by a lovely depth of flavour and the aromatic oasis herbs tie it all together. I always take inspiration from my surroundings and playing polo on camels was hilarious. Whenever I see the palm trees at Hendrick’s Gin Palace I’m transported back to that day when I fed my camel cucumbers, which it enjoyed immensely. It was so much fun I just had to capture that day in a gin as a way of keeping that memory forever!”

It can be had as Oasium and Tonic, garnished with cool cucumber slices; Oasium Fizz, twist on the Paloma, mixing with pink grapefruit, lime juice, and soda; and Oasium Pegu Club, where citrus botanicals shine alongside orange liqueur, lime, and bitters.

Ally Martin, Hendrick’s Global Brand Ambassador added, “Given Hendrick’s Oasium is inspired by a curious oasis, we wanted to lean into that with the suggested drink serves. First and foremost, as with all our releases, Hendrick’s Oasium works wonderfully in a Gin & Tonic. An alternative long serve is the Hendrick’s Oasium Fizz which is akin to a Paloma. The grapefruit works so well with Hendrick’s Oasium and the bright and zesty notes of the gin, coupled with a little sugar and soda to lengthen, is a winner when gathering friends together.”

“Hendrick’s has always championed the art of the unusual, and that’s what sets us apart in the premium white spirits category. We’ve consistently rewarded consumer curiosity, not just with the gin itself, but through immersive experiences, whimsical storytelling, and unexpected collaborations. In a world that’s constantly changing, the launch of our limited edition, Hendrick’s Oasium reflects our commitment to re-engage audiences in a refreshingly curious way that has helped Hendrick’s remain a beloved choice for those who seek something truly distinctive,” said Sachin Mehta, Managing Director, William Grant & Sons. Hendrick’s Oasium is available in select regions such as Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Goa and Kolkata.

Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt wins Double Gold at Monde Selection 2025

Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt Whisky has been awarded Gold Medals for both its expressions, Godawan 01 Rich & Rounded and Godawan 02 Fruit & Spice, at the 2025 Monde Selection Quality Awards. This dual recognition further cements Godawan’s position as India’s most awarded single malt in recent times, with over 90 national and international accolades to date.

Crafted in the heart of Rajasthan, Godawan is India’s premium artisanal single malt whisky with a distinct story, one rooted in place and purpose. Named after the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard, locally known as Godawan, the brand represents mindful luxury and a profound respect for craft and conservation.
