EISWEIN (icewine)

The first Eiswein ever harvested was produced in the German village of Bingen - Dromersheim on February 11, 1830 of grapes of the year 1829. The quality of the 1829 vintage was actually so inferior that many growers did not harvest their grapes. It was a severe and long lasting winter and when the growers finally decided to pick the grapes to feed these to their cattle they found that few EISWEIN Wine World remaining grapes had a high sugar reading.
